With Cyprus’ entry into the European Union coupled with the exponential increase in commercial enterprises and business activities, the field of Competition law in Cyprus has progressively developed and is rigorously applied.

The Commission for the Protection of Competition is the designated competition authority in Cyprus and with the enactment of Law no. 13(I)/2008 whereby Regulation 1/2003 is adopted, the Commission is responsible for the application of EC Competition Law, namely Articles 81 and 82 of the Treaty [Cyprus’ Commission for the Protection of Competition] www.competition.gov.cy/competition/competition.nsf/index_en/index_en?opendocument

Our Competition law department has specialized in the observance and implementation of EC Competition Law and Policy including but not limited to an array of antitrust issues such as Dominance of an Undertaking and Abuse of its Dominant Position, Cartels, Price Fixing, Predatory Pricing, Refusal to Supply, Essential Facilities, State Aid, etc.
